On Saturday, July 7th we are traveling to the great State of Delaware to sample some of the finest beers on the eastern seaboard.
After many months of trying, we were finally able to secure a group tour of the Dogfish Head Brewery in Milton. Their brewmasters will show us the entire beer making process starting with the raw hops. After the tour, we'll visit their tasting room for free samples of their award-winning brews. We'll also check out their Steam Punk Treehouse - which was at the Burning Man Festival in 2009.
We'll also be visiting another fine Delaware brewery - 16 Mile Brewing Company in Georgetown for a second private tour and free beer tasting.
After both tours, we'll head to Rehoboth Beach to walk the boardwalk or catch some afternoon sun on the beach. Dogfish Head's famous Brewings & Eats is located there, or you can choose from a number of other fine establishments for dinner.
And we'll be sailing to and from Delaware by boat! We'll drive the bus down to Cape May and board the ferry to Lewes, DE. It's a 90-minute sail each way.
The bus will depart from Jackson at 9:30 AM, and will return shortly after midnight. For those of you traveling a long distance to Jackson, contact Andy - he and Toka may have space for you to sleep at their house the night before and after.
We are asking for a $55 donation per person. Proceeds will go to support the Bus for Progress. We are asking for a $30 deposit to hold your seat, and the remaining $25 the morning of the trip. Pay via PayPal, or mail a check, payable to "Bus for Progress", to Kathy Maher at 1201 Evergreen Ave., Ocean, NJ 07712.
Dogfish Head is allowing us a maximum of 20 people on the brewery tour, so once 20 seats on the bus have been filled, that's it!
Yes, it is going to be a Beer, Boats and Beach adventure on July 7th! We hope you'll join us! Invite a friend! For questions, email us.
