In 2011, Josh Fox directed the Academy Award-winning documentary Gasland that raised the veil on fracking and exposed its effects on the environment, human health and safety, and communities.  You may recall the famous scene where a man set the water coming out of his kitchen sink on fire!

Josh's new sequel Gasland II premiered for the first time at the Tribecca Film Festival last month.  It will be released on HBO in July.  Prior to its release, Josh is doing a limited grass roots tour of six states to raise fracking awareness.  He will be visiting NJ for one day only - Saturday, June 15th.

The Bus for Progress has joined with the Delaware Riverkeeper Network, Food & Water Watch, New Jersey Environmental Federation, and the New Jersey Sierra Club to bring Josh and HBO to Trenton for two free shows of Gasland II at the New Jersey State Museum auditorium, 205 West State St.  Following each show, Josh will do a question and answer session with the audience. The show and question period should be no more than 3 hours.

The Bus for Progress will be heading to the second performance of the show, which starts at 7 PM.  We hope you'll consider riding with us!   Don't worry about directions, parking or walking through Trenton.  We are stopping at four locations in Middlesex, Monmouth and Ocean Counties to bring people to the show.  We'll drop you off in front of the theater and pick you up when the show ends.  Here are the pickup locations:
  • 4:35 PM at the Garden State Parkway (GSP) Cheesequake Rest Stop (mile 123). The bus will park on the west side of the main building in the bus parking spots.
  • 5:00 PM in Red Bank behind the Tri-Parkway Corporate Park building, on 200 Schulz Drive (enter at intersection with Half Mile Road), just blocks from the Garden State Parkway 109 entrance.
  • 5:20 PM at the Wall Township GSP Rest Stop (mile 100). The bus will be in the commuter lot at the very south end (down the hill towards Belmar Blvd.).
  • 5:50 PM at Glory's Market, 584 Cedar Swamp Rd,  Jackson, NJ 08527. (corner of  W. Commodore Blvd [CR-526] & Cedar Swamp Rd [CR-527]). Park along the tree line parallel to Cedar Swamp Rd.
  • 6:30 PM - arrive at NJ State Museum in Trenton
Please arrive at the pickup location 10 minutes early, so you are ready to hop on the bus when it arrives!

The Bus for Progress is a very fun and comfortable way to travel.  With a full restroom, couches, tables, chairs, a microwave, coffee maker and cooler, you'll enjoy the ride and make new friends along the way.

We are asking for a $22.50 donation to travel from Cheesequake or Red Bank, a $17.50 donation from Wall or Jackson. (Bus Driver members get a 10% discount.).  The Bus For Progress holds 25 people. Seats will be reserved on a first-come, first-served basis. Proceeds from the trip go to support the Bus for Progress (www.BusForProgress.org), a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting important progressive issues, groups and candidates. We need a minimum of 16 people to make this trip possible.  If we are unable to secure 16 passengers, money will be refunded.  See our Cancellation Policy.

Don't miss this incredible opportunity to see Gasland II before it is released on HBO, meet Josh Fox in person, and help raise awareness of the dangers of fracking!
