Saturday evening, October 13th, we are driving the Bus For Progress Haunted Hayriding for Halloween!
And we are not just going to local hayrides around the corner. We are traveling into Pennsylvania to visit two attractions ranked as scariest in the country!
The first is the Bates Motel in Glen Mills, PA. There we'll ride one of the scariest hayrides in the country, enter the Bates Motel, and if we survive, tour the Haunted Corn Maze.
Our second stop will be the Pennhurst Asylum in Chester, PA. It was a real state asylum opened in 1908! There we will tour the Asylum, the Dungeon of Lost Souls, the Tunnel of Terror and the Ghost Hunt (visiting the Mayfair building featured in Ghost Hunters)!
Halloween costumes are strongly recommended for everyone on the bus! Our plan is to entertain the patrons, and people paid to entertain us!
We'll depart from Andy and Toka's house in Jackson at 4:30 PM sharp. Please arrive no later than 4:00 PM. For those who are interested (not included in price), we'll pick up pizza to eat as we travel. Bring your own beverages, which must be kept in spill-proof mugs.
We should return to Jackson around 1:30 AM. All are welcome to sleep over at our house - bring an air mattress and sleeping bag if you would prefer not to drive straight home.
The price of the evening is $86. It includes transportation on the bus, tickets to two attractions at the Bates Motel, and all the attractions at the Pennhurst Asylum. To reserve your seat now, please send us a $57 deposit by clicking here. We'll collect the remaining $29 on the afternoon of the trip. Seats will be filled in the order the deposit is received. Proceeds will go to keep the Bus for Progress running and support its non-profit organization.
The Bus for Progress is an extremely fun way to travel! It features a built-in cooler, a full restroom, tables, chairs, sofas, a coffee maker and so much more.
Interested in joining us from NYC? NJ Transit buses 130, 132, 136 and 139 leave every 30 minutes from Port Authority to Lakewood. We'll pick you up from the bus terminal.
This trip will be for adults and teens. No children under 15, please. Based upon interest, we may schedule a second Haunted Hayride Tour on Saturday, October 27th. That tour will be a local one, in which children of all ages are welcome. Stay tuned for more info.
Thanks, everyone! We hope you'll join us for an evening of fright, terror and great fun! We need 18 passengers to make this trip happen, so invite a friend! Email us with any questions.
