Ride the Bus in the Jersey Pride Parade - Sunday, June 2nd in Asbury Park!We are teaming up with our friends at the Monmouth County Chapter of Democracy for America.
To secure your seat:
1. fill out the following form
2. send your contribution by clicking the Add to Cart button under it, or mail a check (payable to Bus For Progress) to Kathy Maher at 1201 Evergreen Ave, Ocean, NJ 07712.
We ride for marriage equality for all NJ residents. We ride to stop bullying in our schools. We ride for strong laws to protect the LGBT community. We ride to support candidates and incumbents who will make all this possible!
Marriage equality has come to the northern and southern borders of our state, yet Governor Christie refuses to sign it into law. Now is the time to show your support for the LGBT community, and convince our legislature to overturn his veto!
Ride on the roof of the bus, march in front, or sit inside and waive out the window. The choice is yours!
A suggested donation of $15 per person ($13.50 for Bus Driver members) would be appreciated to help pay for all the associated costs and decorations. Proceeds go to support the bus and its non-profit organization. There is no cost for children. Space to ride on our roof is limited - and will be saved for those who reserve their seats first.
The parade begins at noon, but the bus will be arriving at the staging location (the municipal parking lot at Main St. and Cookman Ave.) at 10:30 AM. Arrive early to help us set up and decorate the bus. Have any rainbow decorations that you can bring?
After the parade, enjoy the food, music, interesting speakers and other highlights of the festival. Or spend the day at the beach!
Can you add $5 or $10 to help us print a large "SUPPORT MARRIAGE EQUALITY FOR ALL NJ RESIDENTS" banner to display on the side of the bus (for this and future event)? Each donor will be given a marker, and the chance to sign their name to the banner in recognition! To contribute, click the second Add to Cart button above.
